Legazpi City – As part of mainstreaming gender and development programs to its stakeholders, the National Conciliation and Mediation Board – Regional Branch 5 (NCMB-RB5), in coordination with its social partners, the Labor and Management Industrial Peace Advocates (LAMIPA) and Organization of Grievance Machinery Advocates (OGMA) spearheaded a whole day seminar on March 7, 2018 on Gender and Development (GAD).

More than ninety attendees from different management and labor representatives of organized and unorganized private companies in the region trooped to Hotel St. Ellis in Legazpi City to participate in the seminar.  Topics on Anti-Sexual Harassment Act, Anti-Violence against Women and their Children Act, Basic Human Rights, and Workplace Harassment Prevention were presented.  Other topics included were programs on Alternative Dispute Resolution, Family Welfare, DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment and Workers’ Organization and Development.

Computer skills as a basic tool for productivity

Nowadays, the use of computer is common in many workplaces since almost all offices use computer for the purpose of emailing and documenting ideas.  Computer skills become a basic requirement for most jobs as most offices require every job applicant to at least possess computer skills, as well as basic understanding on how to use and operate a computer including word processors and computer programs.

Last February 27, 2018, the Regional Conciliation and Mediation Branch 5 (RCMB5) provided a training titled “Computer Hardware and Software Fundamentals”.  The activity was attended by personnel of said office.  The primary objective of the seminar is to familiarise the employees of the various parts of the computer and to test their knowledge about it.
