Legazpi City – Regional Branch Director Reynaldo Foncardas announced that the Regional Conciliation and Mediation Branch (RCMB)-V will hold a seminar on “Orientation on NCMB Programs and Services” on 21 March 2019 at Fernando 168 Bistro Fernando’s Hotel, Bitan-o, Sorsogon City.

“The seminar will delve on the three major programs of the National Conciliation and Mediation Board (NCMB),” said Director Foncardas.  “This aims to promote the different programs and services of the NCMB in order to sustain harmonious relationship between employees and employers.  This is one of the aspects of continuous labor education and the implementation of innovative approaches towards workers’ productivity which is the Board’s mandate.”

According to Director Foncardas, that aside from the programs of NCMB, namely Conciliation and Mediation (CM)/Single-Entry Approach (SENA), Grievance Machinery/Voluntary Arbitration (GM/VA) and Workplace Cooperation and Partnership (WCP) or the Labor and Management Cooperation (LMC) program, other topics that will be included in the seminar are Workers’ Rights and Obligations and Management Prerogatives and Limitations.

“All establishments in the vicinity of Sorsogon City are invited to attend the seminar.  We are encouraging the management or his/her representative and preferably a worker rep as well to attend this seminar as this is for free that includes handouts, brochures and meals during the seminar,” continued Director Foncardas.

The Board highly encourages the creation of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms in the workplace as voluntary modes of settling disputes to foster industrial peace. – fin.
