National Conciliation and Mediation Board

Regional Branch No.

19 October 2018

“Small but terrible,” as described by almost everyone in the branch office of the newly hired Administrative Assistant III of RCMB 5, Ms. Jennifer Mae A. Novela.   If I may describe her, she is one petite and “terrible” lady in the sense that when she became part of NCMB, she is very active and committed in the pursuits of the office and not to mention already became a Resource Person in one of the recent area wide seminars conducted by the branch – and that’s just months long after she was hired – on a Job Order basis.

Ms. Novela graduated cum laude at Bicol University-College of Social Sciences and Philosophy with a degree of AB Philosophy on April 2013. Her dream of becoming a lawyer one day inspired her to continue her studies and graduated Bachelors of Law in April 2017 at Aquinas University of Legazpi now University of Sto. Tomas –Legazpi.  “Jen” as she is fondly called by her peers is only 26 years old and still single.  She lives in San Jose, Iriga City with her parents and three other siblings.  A family oriented person, kind hearted and very approachable, she instantly connects and become close with her officemates.

Ms. Novela is not new in our office, in fact she was already a member of RCMB 5 prior to her permanent appointment.  Hired as Job Order personnel in February 2018, Ms. Novela is very responsible in every task assigned to her, no wonder there was no objection or second thought for her to vie for the vacant permanent position left by retired employee, Ms. Gloria S. Cope.

The vacant position was published and posted on CSC website on July 19, 2018 as it is still open to all qualified applicants.  Many applied for the position, but with her qualifications and related experiences rendered in this office for the past months, she made it on top of the list, thus her appointment was signed on October 12, 2018 and after complying with all the requirements, she assumed her duty as Administrative Assistant III and has taken her Oath of Office before Regional Director Reynaldo S. Foncardas on October 17, 2018.

It was a busy and hectic schedule for the Selection Board of the branch, for they have processed two vacant permanent position in the last two months. It is note-taking that just last August 2018, Mr. Rey Kelly Larce, Administrative Aide VI was also appointed, adding to the list of permanent employees of RB5. “Ngayon mas magiging malakas na ang team ng NCMB Region 5, we have recruited the best employees for our branch” said Director Foncardas.

The oath-taking ceremony of Ms. Novela held last October 17, 2018 was once again witnessed by the RCMB 5 personnel, and everyone was in happy mood for having an additional member of the family is always a welcome activity.
